The laminar flow is improved and the turbulence reduced by the leaflet opening angle. The ratio between the opening and the annulus is at a maximum of 72%. The sewing cuff of this heart valve was redesigned so that it could be implanted supra-annularly and the opening size for a specified tissue annulus diameter can be optimized.
