The Clinical Nurse Educator is a registered nurse whose practice is clinical nursing education and who oversees required education, competency, training, and professional development for the critical care population specific nursing staff in the UCLA Health system.  Encompasses the delivery of clinician (primarily nursing), professional/leadership development, policies, activities, assessment tools, and systems.  Promotes excellence in patient care, through skill acquisition in evidence based nursing practice and clinical inquiry.  Collaborates with nursing leadership (Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Nursing Professional Development Specialists) to deliver educational programs and secure resources based on needs assessments and adult learning theory.  Meets the diverse requirements of the nursing units, patient populations, regulatory and accreditation and strategic goals of the organization/health system.

 
Qualifications

 

MSN in Nursing Education or MSN with post certificate in Nursing Education, required
3 years of recent critical care experience, required
Experience working with the critical care population, required
National certification in area of specialty, preferred.
Current CA RN license, required
Current/valid ACLS, required
