Why did you decide to investigate NTF-prep? Long-term cognitive impairment after critical illness (CIACI) was first described in 1999 (Hopkins 1999). In 1992 we noticed that in cardiac surgery with extracorporeal circulation patients there was a correlation between jugular bulb lactic acid and cognitive decline.
