Medlab, in Ankara, Turkey, has chosen to digitise its mammography operations using a MicroDose mammography solution from the IT and medical technology company, Sectra. The system was sold by Kurt&Kurt AS, Sectra’s distribution partner in Turkey. Medlab will be the first service in Turkey to offer women mammography examinations with half the radiation dose compared with all other alternatives.
“We have noticed a demand for low-dose radiology solutions among an increasing number of Turkish women, which we will be able to meet with MicroDose,” says Dr Enis Arpaci, Medical Doctor and one of the founders of Medlab.
Based on the decision by the Ministry of Health in Turkey, all women of 45 years of age and older are recommended to having a mammography taken bi-annually.
