First Philips Allura Centron Interventional X-ray System Installed in Europe

Innovative interventional X-ray system improves routine procedures through enhanced ease of use, superior image quality and increased patient throughput.

 

The Clinique Pasteur in Toulouse, France, has seen Europe’s first installation of Philips’ new Allura Centron interventional X-ray (iXR) system. Intended for cardiac and electrophysiology procedures the new device is also suitable for neurological and vascular procedures.

 

The proven technology used in the renowned Allura family of systems has been further developed, offering outstanding image quality, accessibility and a familiar workflow. Additionally, an increased patient throughput is facilitated, allowing a larger number of routine procedures to be carried out in hospitals.

 

An aging population along with ever increasing levels of obesity and diabetes magnify the burden of cardiovascular disease across the world. Treatment through coronary catheterization has evolved into a routine procedure increasingly performed globally, however the current economic climate has limited and pressurised healthcare resources. The proven MRC X-ray tube and high-performance 100 kW generator ensure extraordinary performance and image quality in the latest Philips Allura X-ray systems, featuring a brand-new, next-generation 15" flat-panel X-ray detector which facilitate support of a variety of minimally invasive applications. By maintaining the same user interface as the Philips Allura X-ray systems, the Allura Centron ensures enhanced workflow and user-friendliness.

 

Dr. Daniel Colombier of Clinique Pasteur confirms that the installation of Philips’ Allura Centron has substantially improved the clinical offering and levels of care currently provided to patients. The amount daily routine procedures has been increased, freeing up the existing Allura systems for more complex interventions. “As it shares a common user interface and geometry with other Allura models, our operators have found it very easy to incorporate the Allura Centron into their existing workflows,” concludes Colombier.
