In yet another interesting session at #ECR2020 last week, experts presented COVID-19: the radiographers' perspective.
Five speakers shared their perspectives with the audience. Charlotte Falkward talked about staying well and supporting each other during these challenging times. She discussed the importance of strong clinical teams during the pandemic and how national societies could play a role in supporting the health and well-being of its workers. She discussed some examples of the activities that can be conducted to support the health and well-being of radiographers.
Shane Foley of Dublin Ireland talked about COVID-19 and radiographer education. He discussed the impact of COVID-19 on radiographer education and reflected on some of the major challenges they faced when transitioning to online. He highlighted the fact that the opportunities created by the pandemic are likely to continue and will change the way healthcare is practiced.
Jonathan Portelli of Malta discussed the importance of effective communication in medical imaging and discussed the various communication challenges that radiographers had to face during the COVId-10 pandemic and the strategies that can be used to enhance communication with patients as well as staff members.
Nicholas Woznitza explored the role of chest radiology in COVD-19 and highlighted some of the key imaging findings for the radiographers.
Jonathan McNulty of Ireland reviewed the different roles that radiographers have played during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also acknowledged the contributions made by radiographers during these challenging times.
