The European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) is a not-for-profit scientific organisation that was established by radiologists who work in close association with gastroenterologists, hepatologists, abdominal surgeons, pathologists, and other allied specialists. The annual meeting of ESGAR is held in a different European country each year and covers a specific topic that is related to the main theme of Abdominal Imaging and Intervention. The meeting includes educational lectures, workshops, scientific presentations and satellite symposia. 

The year, the ESGAR Annual Meeting will be held on June 20-23, 2017 in Athens, Greece. Here are five reasons to attend ESGAR:

Postgraduate Course
This year's ESGAR includes a new exciting programme "The Postgraduate Course on "Imaging the post-operative Abdomen". This programme will challenge every day clinical practices and will deal with the most common current surgical techniques, post-operative imaging anatomy, complications after abdominal surgery, post-surgical alterations and clinical significance of imaging findings in the post-operative abdomen.

Excellent Scientific Programme
Specifically, the scientific programme includes three workshops and ten hands-on sessions discussing a large series of clinical cases. The Image Guided Therapy feature will include lecture sessions and scientific papers and posters.

School of ESGAR
This feature will present topics following the chapters from the European Training Curriculum. The School of ESGAR will be open from June 21 to June 23, 2017.
