We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Arumugam Rajesh as the new Editor in Chief of Clinical Radiology, the international monthly scientific journal of the Faculty of Clinical Radiology. Professor Rajesh will take over from the current Editor Dr Mike Weston in September 2022.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Weston for his wonderful contribution and commitment to the journal since he took up office in 2018.
Professor Rajesh will continue to build on the success of the journal to date and develop its offering for our members and subscribers around the globe with high quality, educational and academic content each month.
Dr Weston said: ‘I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my tenure as Editor of the journal and overcoming the difficulties we faced during the COVID–19 pandemic.
‘Rajesh has delivered sterling work as one of the Deputy Editors and I know that he will be a great Editor for the journal.’
Professor Rajesh graduated from Madras Medical College, Chennai, India, and completed his Radiology training at University Hospitals of Leicester. This was followed by a Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at Indiana University School of Medicine in 2003, before taking up a consultant position at University Hospitals of Leicester. He specialises in Hepatobiliary Imaging, inflammatory bowel disease and Urologic Imaging.
Professor Rajesh was a member of the FRCR Physics Working group from 2008–2012 and Chair of the group in 2012. He has held numerous editorial roles with Radiology journals including Clinical Radiology and was awarded the prestigious Lee F Rogers International Fellowship in Radiology Journalism by the American Roentgen Ray Society in 2010. He is also involved with international trials, has published extensively, is the author of two textbooks on Crohn’s Disease and GU Imaging and an invited speaker at many international meetings.
Professor Rajesh is a keen educator and has worked with colleagues in the East Midlands to establish the Radiology Academy in 2019 and continues to promote newer and novel methods of education in Radiology nationally.
