The Yale University Department of Emergency Medicine invites you to join our experts in Emergency and Critical Care ultrasound to help you learn or enhance your point-of-care ultrasound skills.

This is the 10th year that we will be gathering experts from New England, New Jersey and New York to teach a comprehensive point-of-care ultrasound course, hosted in the heart of New England.

Following our “two-track” model, we offer teaching and improvement of skills for beginners in point-of-care ultrasound use, as well as in-depth applications for more advanced practitioners.

The Basic track will focus on topics that are relevant to front-line settings like the Emergency Department or a General Practice setting (eFAST, echo, aorta & IVC, intra-abdominal, pelvic, DVT and vascular access).

The Advanced track will touch on topics relevant to advanced EM usage and critical care settings (IVC, doppler, advanced thoracic, advanced echo). There are courses that overlap between tracks, and practitioners who have some experience in using ultrasound or have taken a course like this before may benefit from the Advanced track.

Both tracks include extensive hands-on experience in small groups with healthy live models and procedural phantoms.

There will be no more than 5 participants in each hands-on group. Each day will have at least 2-3 hours of hands-on instruction incorporated into the teaching. Cases will be logged so participants can keep track of the number of scans they have performed.
