It is an honor for Japan Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine (JSUM) to host the 20th WFUMB congress in Japan in 2025.

The COVID-19 pandemic is finally coming to an end, and we are returning to a free and vigorous daily life. On the other hand, natural disasters and wars threaten our safe lives. We reaffirmed the importance of contributing to the sustainable lives of people around the world through medical care. We are convinced that a sustainable healthcare system is based on a medical system that can respond quickly and accurately to any disease, medical field, geopolitical region, or natural environment, and that diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound will have a major impact on this issue. Therefore, the theme of this conference is “Ultrasound toward Sustainable healthcare system”. This will be the first time in 31 years that the congress has been held in Japan since the 7th congress was held in Sapporo in 1994. We hope to see you in May 2025 in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan.

2025年に日本でWFUMBの第20回会議を開催することは日本超音波医学会にとって光栄なことです。

COVID-19パンデミックはようやく終息に向かい、自由で闊達な日常の生活を取り戻しつつあります。一方で、自然災害や戦争によって安全な暮らしが脅かされています。我々は医療を通して世界中の人々の持続的な生活に貢献していくことが重要であることを再確認しました。持続可能なヘルスケアシステムはどのような疾病、医療領域、地政学的地域、自然環境においても迅速かつ的確に対応可能な医療システムであり、まさに超音波診断・治療はこのことに大きく関わっていく物と確信しております。そこで、この会議のテーマを”Ultrasound toward Sustainable healthcare system”としました。日本での開催は、1994年の第７回会議を札幌市で開催してから31年ぶりの開催となります。2025年5月に日本の
古都、京都でお会いしましょう。
