Coagulation in perioperative practice
9th interdisciplinary haemostaseological intensive workshop for operating theaters and intensive care units in Berlin – workshop series on perioperative haemostaseology
For anesthesiologists, intensive care physicians, surgical colleagues and haemostaseologists, this illustrates the tension between guiding patients in perioperative and intensive care medicine safely through the risks of thrombosis and bleeding.
In addition to the various hemostaseological clinical pictures (including von Willebrand syndrome, but also thrombophilic coagulation disorders) and the perioperatively acquired disorders of hemostasis (e.g. in mass transfusion, polytrauma, peripartum hemorrhage, etc.), the "newer systemic" diseases are demanding profound knowledge of diagnostic options (including point-of-care diagnostics) and haemostaseological therapy.
Therefore, the aim of this intensive workshop is to jointly work out the special features of both patients with haemostaseological clinical pictures who need anticoagulant therapy, as well as the acquired and hereditary coagulation disorders of perioperative and intensive care medicine and thus to create the basis for an effective and safe therapy.
For all these topics, we offer space for case discussions and small group work in addition to "classic" lectures with subsequent discussion opportunities.
Under the patronage of the Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research (GTH) and the German Academy for Anaesthesiological Training (DAAF), we cordially invite you to this unique intensive workshop on all important aspects of perioperative and intensive care haemostasis.
We look forward to welcoming you in Berlin and St. Gallen!
