Prof. Theodoros Kyprianou, a distinguished figure in Respiratory and Intensive Care Medicine, has announced his new position as Consultant intensiveist at the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London, effective January 24.
Currently serving as a consultant physician (Respiratory) at PRUH, King’s College Hospital NHS Trust in London, and as an Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia Medical School in Cyprus, Prof. Kyprianou is widely recognised for his expertise in the field. He also holds the position of Director and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) on the board of ideation.AI, a startup specialising in smart software solutions for acute care.
With a wealth of leadership experience, Prof. Kyprianou has played key roles in the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, EU-funded flagship research programmes, and the H2020 SC1 programme standing committee in Brussels. Internationally acclaimed, he operates within a scientific network spanning basic to clinical sciences and health informatics, regularly contributing as a speaker at medical and scientific conferences worldwide.
Passionate about establishing and maintaining clinical excellence, Prof. Kyprianou emphasises an interdisciplinary approach to clinical challenges and research questions. His commitment extends to quality control, research, and the continuous development of infrastructure, personnel, and processes.
