Essentia Health-Fargo is proud to welcome Dr. Shu Xian (Suzanne) Lee, who specializes in critical care.

“I was drawn to practice at Essentia Health because of the camaraderie I witnessed amongst the staff, and I felt very welcomed to the community,” said Dr. Lee. “I do not have personal or professional ties to this region, but I am passionate about improving health care equity and access to underserved communities. I believe I can help make a positive impact in the Fargo community.”

Dr. Lee received her medical degree from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Northside Hospital Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, Georgia, as well as a fellowship in critical care medicine and infectious diseases at the West Virginia University Medical Center in Morgantown. Dr. Lee is certified in infectious disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

“I chose to be in infectious disease and critical care medicine because both subspecialty fields require a cerebral environment, which I enjoy and thrive in,” said Dr. Lee. “Complications secondary to infections, especially insidious ones, are common in the ICU, and having a background in infectious disease proves useful to effectively manage these challenging cases. I enjoy the challenge and intricacies presented with each patient.

“I am passionate about medicine and will deliver the best care possible to you and your loved ones.”
