Euroanaesthesia 2014 will comprise of: 6 pre-congress courses, 23 refresher courses, 68 symposia, 4 workshops, 3 interactive sessions, 11 lectures, 2 meet the expert sessions, 12 pro-con debates, 2 postgraduate courses as well as several guest sessions and specialist society meetings.

In addition, about 1000 scientific abstracts will present latest research in anaesthesia, intensive care, pain and emergency medicine.

The traditional Sir Robert Macintosh lecture will be given by Prof. François Clergue from Geneva, Switzerland in recognition of his long-time and outstanding contributions to the field of anaesthesiology.

Several research grants will again be awarded to young researchers and participants will get an update on the achievements of the Clinical Trial Network (CTN), which is already well recognised around the world.

Visa & Passport Requirements

Each delegate is responsible for having a valid passport for entry into Sweden.

Participants requiring a VISA for entry into Sweden are advised to submit their application in their home country at least two months prior to the intended date of travel. Please check with the Swedish Embassy in your country to determine if a VISA is required.

Delegates requiring an Invitation letter in order to obtain a VISA will receive this automatically together with their registration confirmation. The letter of invitation does not cover registration fees or any related expenses and is considered a formality to facilitate the process of obtaining a VISA for entry into Sweden.

Getting There

Stockholm is only a two-hour flight from many European cities. With flight connections from all over the world, Euroanaesthesia 2014 attendees will have an easy time reaching the capital of Scandinavia.


To and from the airport

The Greater Stockholm area has four international airports, all with good connections to downtown Stockholm.

Getting from Arlanda Airport, Stockholm’s largest airport, to the city centre is a 20-minute journey by express train. Taxis and coach services are also available. More information on the other 3 airports is available on www.visitstockholm.com.


Getting around

The Full Registration Fee includes a free public transport ticket which will be handed out on-site with your congress bag.

Buses and commuter trains stop at Älvsjö Station, which is right next to Stockholmsmässan. The journey by commuter train from Stockholm Central Station to Stockholmsmässan takes just ten minutes. There are 8-14 commuter train departures every hour from Stockholm Central
Station to Älvsjö Station.

Payment Terms

On-line Registration Payment Terms

On-line registration is accepted by credit card (American Express / Mastercard / VISA) payment and in EURO currency only. Registration fees are applicable only upon receipt of registration and payment before the given deadlines.

Registration fees are calculated according to the rate class (ESA Member or Non ESA Member) and the applicable rate (Early Bird Fee or Pre-Registration Fee) which is defined by the on-line registration date. For registrations submitted with companies or travel agencies - contact details will not be processed until the delegates’ details are provided.


Name Change Policy

Name changes are not possible. New registration and payment is required.


Cancellation Policy

Registration cancellations and requests for refund of the registration fee for Euroanaesthesia 2014 must be received in writing at the ESA Secretariat no later than Wednesday 14 May 2014. After this date no refunds for cancellation are possible.

Cancellations due to VISA application refusal /delay are non-refundable. No refund can be given if the congress has to be cancelled due to any epidemic or natural disaster known before 30 November 2013 as the ESA insurance does not cover these risks.

Refund Policy

Eligible refunds, net of a 100 Euro fee, are transacted after Euroanaesthesia.


Group & Press Registrations

Companies or travel agencies can only make group registrations for 10 participants or more. Payment for group registrations is made by bank transfer. Group registration opens on 20 November 2013 and closes on 14 May 2014.

NOTE: If you register a group, registration confirmations will be sent to the group contact person.


Press Registration

Accredited members of the press are welcome to attend Euroanaesthesia 2014. Please present your Press ID on-site to the ESA Secretariat desk.

On-site Registration

Full registration is possible on-site, using our self-service registration facility. However, to avoid paying a higher rate, pre-registration is strongly recommended. One-day registration will also be available at the Congress Centre only on the day of attendance.
