For the second year in a row, Susan Hertzberg, President and CEO of Boston Heart Diagnostics, has been named a regional finalist for the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. New England regional winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Sheraton in Boston on 11 June 2014. The annual awards program honours entrepreneurs who have excelled in the areas of financial performance, innovation and commitment to both business and community organisations.

Leadership and Innovative Thinking Spurs Company Growth

According to Boston Heart Diagnostic’s chairman, Peter D. Parker, the company owes much of its success over the past four years to Hertzberg’s vision of a company that integrates innovative diagnostics with personalised programs for lifestyle and nutrition. Patients at risk for or already diagnosed with heart disease have been empowered by Boston Heart’s approach to heart health. Improved communication between clinicians and patients is made possible by the company’s commitment to combining diagnostics with action plans focused on lifestyle changes.

Acclaim For Boston Heart Diagnostics

Hertzberg is not the only recipient of recognition for success. Boston Heart Diagnostics made the list of Forbes’ most promising companies earlier this year, and in 2013 was listed eighth on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, a ranking of North America’s fastest-growing companies in the industries of technology, life sciences, media, telecommunications and clean technology. The company was also named one of the “Top Places to Work” by the Boston Globe in 2012.

Honouring Global Leadership

Since its inception 28 years ago, Ernst & Young's annual awards program has expanded globally. It now has a presence in over 145 cities, honouring business leadership in more than 60 nations across the world. A single winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Overall Award will be announced in November in Palm Springs, California.
