• Penny Gowland

    Penny Gowland is a Professor of Physics at the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre at the University of Nottingham. Her career goal has been to who develop quantitative methods in MRI and to use these to answer key questions in biomedicine. She is particularly focused on making rapid measurements to study dynamic processes and physiological responses to a challenge. She has a long term interest in fetal MRI including to study fetal growth, functional imaging of the gastrointestinal tract and of exploiting the capabilities of ultrahigh field MRI. She has published very widely in the methods and applications of MRI and is the current Secretary of the ISMRM and a Fellow of the ISMRM.
