The Brandenburg Economic Development Board (ZAB) is a central point of contact for potential investors, existing SMEs and technology-oriented start-ups in Brandenburg. We offer a comprehensive range of services from a single source using our staff’s expertise and contacts, and enable you to make the best of the extensive support programs developed by the state and federal governments as well as the European Union. We work individually, confidentially — and free of charge, of course.

We are here to help you if you are considering investing in Brandenburg. We support you in the search for a suitable site, arrange for the recruitment of qualified personnel, and assist you on financing and funding issues as well as on navigating administrative agencies. Moreover, our specialists in the various industry teams cater to your individual needs.

Our Energy department (“ZAB Energie”) is taking a leading role in the development of a sustainable energy supply in the region. It provides comprehensive consulting services for businesses and municipalities on energy efficiency, coordinates energy-related networks and supervises technology projects in the energy sector.

The availability of a skilled workforce is among the key factors of Brandenburg’s success as a business location. “ZAB Arbeit", a special department of the ZAB agency, answers all questions you may have on such topics as skilled workforce, further training, work-life balance, professional integration and the job promotion tools developed by the regional government. ZAB Arbeit offers a broad range of consulting services, develops tailored concepts and provides advice on the effective use of business incentives.

We also promote R&D projects — both by supporting individual projects and supervising networks of companies and research institutes — and advise SMEs on patent issues and funding for innovation projects. Furthermore, we run location marketing campaigns, organise entrepreneur trips and participate in numerous trade fairs.

The ZAB is run jointly by the State of Brandenburg and the region’s Chambers of Commerce, Chambers of Crafts and business federation (UVB). Its headquarters are in Potsdam, with regional centres in Cottbus, Frankfurt/Oder, Eberswalde, Neuruppin and Potsdam.

The ZAB has close ties with the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB), following the model of a one-stopagency. It cooperates with the regional business development agencies in Brandenburg to market the German Capital Region as a prime location for science and industry.

The States of Berlin and Brandenburg maintain a joint marketing office in the direct vicinity of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

Last but not least, we are involved in developing a joint innovation strategy for the States of Berlin and Brandenburg.
