The South Dakota Lions Eye & Tissue Bank (SDLETB) is a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our function is solely for the benefit of society. As an eye bank and tissue bank, the SDLETB is the only eye tissue recovery, evaluation, and distribution organization located in South Dakota. Along with eye bank services, we are also a tissue bank providing full donation services.

The front clear part of the eye (the cornea) is transplanted to restore vision. Examples of a few tissue transplants include bone transplants for spinal surgery or trauma repair; a tendon transplant for knee or shoulder injuries, or a vein transplant for bypass surgery.
