Environment Oriental Motor is convinced that protecting the global environment is one of mankind's most important core tasks. That is why Oriental Motor takes the environmentalist cause seriously and takes an active part in preserving the environment in the form of numerous initiatives in different areas. Oriental Motor environmental guidelines We measure the impact our company's activities, products and services have on the environment, introduce environmental initiatives, check them regularly and constantly improve our activities to protect the environment. In all our activities we promote the husbanding of resources, the effective use of resources, energy savings and waste reduction. In developing and manufacturing products, not only do we satisfy customers' needs, we also keep the environmental impact to a minimum by factoring in reductions in resource and energy consumption as well as harmful substances. We comply with the relevant environmental legislation, directives and decrees and engage with anti pollution measures. We also attempt to work in harmony with society and the region. We train every employee in environmental protection and ensure that appropriate information is disseminated in-house. We endeavour to heighten the awareness of our employees in such a way that they are capable of implementing measures to protect the environment. We are extending our business activities based on these guidelines by striving for our business partners' understanding and cooperation as well. RoHS directive EU Guideline 2011/65/EU for restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment was published on 8th June 2011 and came into force on 21st July 2011. The abbreviation RoHS (Restriction of (the use of certain) hazardous substances) has gained acceptance. The RoHS directive prohibits the use of lead, quicksilver, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly brominated biphenyl (PBB) and poly brominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) as toxic substances that endanger the environment. What are REACH regulations? It is a regulation that deals with the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances in the European Union. (REACH: REGULATION (EC) No. 1907/2006 Registration Evaluation Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) This law was adopted by the European Council on December 18th, 2006, made public on December 30th, 2006 and legislated on June 1st, 2007. Threshold limit values The threshold limit values for the homogeneous materials contained in the product are defined as follows: lead, quicksilver, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE: maximum 0.1 percent by weightCadmium: maximum 0.01 percent by weight Scope The directive applies to electrical and electronic equipment that come under categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 listed in Annex IA of directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE directive: Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
