Hydrosun represents light therapy and natural heating with enhanced penetration depth and high radiation intensity. The Hydrosun Irradiator is a mobile, easily manageable and almost maintenance-free medical device. Without producing ultraviolet rays, its emission lies in the spectrum of visible light (380 nm to 780 nm) and in the deep-penetrating area of water-filtered infrared-A (wIRA) with wavelengths from 780 nm to 1,400 nm. It emulates the combination of the sun and the humid atmosphere. Through the filtering effect of the water in the atmosphere, by which specific wavelengths are absorbed, the sun's radiation loses its harmful impact. Were the atmospheric filtering not to take place, this energy would be absorbed by water molecules in the most superficial layers of human skin. Overheating and tissue dehydration would result. The unique principle of operation involves the insertion of a hermetically sealed water-filter in the radiation path to absorb those infrared wavelengths which would otherwise harm the skin. Hence, therapeutic treatment of deeper tissue layers with a high radiation intensity can be achieved over longer periods of time.
