Digitec Medical Service Corporation was founded in 1982 as a sales and service organization focusing on breast imaging. Initially, we constructed women's health centers throughout the southeastern U.S., managing the complete project from concept and architect design to equipment installation.In the early 1990s, we shifted our focus to refurbishing mammography systems and selling replacement parts. For many years, Digitec was one of the largest distributors of the Ausonics line of breast imaging systems. Today, we sell and service systems by GE, Lorad, Philips, Siemens, Fischer, Instrumentarium and many others.In 1998, Digitec combined the sales and service groups into one location in Lawrenceville, Georgia. As growth in inventory and operations continued, we moved to a larger facility in 2001. Further growth has prompted us to again increase our office and warehouse space, more than tripling our facility size in early 2007.Digitec has historically played a leading role in the improvement of mammography through the introduction of several upgrade kits. These have included compression system enhancements for the GE 600T Senix, Picker Sureview, Acoma/Ausonics and Toshiba systems. Additionally, we have developed improvements for phototiming, image resolution, and buckys.
