Ceramaret SA designs and produces components out of the hardest of materials such as Advanced Ceramics (zirconia, alumina) and synthetic sapphire and ruby. The company was founded in Le Locle in 1907. It moved to Bôle in 1952 into a new building that has since been extended in several stages. Originally active in the watch industry, Ceramaret (formerly Maret SA) diversified its activites and is now leader in the manufacturing of small precision components in ultra hard materials.

The company has also developed the famous "Maret Polishing Method". Emphasis is placed on rational, intelligent and innovative solutions. Technical requirements are met in consideration of economics and environmental impact, as well as compliance with strict safety standards. Ceramaret now employs over 100 persons and is ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 18001: 2007, ISO 13485: 2003certified. 90% of the production is exported worldwide. Ceramaret SA is part of MK Holding SA. It has a capital of CHF 1 million.
