CartsPlus Healthcare Products Ltd. Was originally incorporated in 1996 as Acart Healthcare Products Ltd., and is today a leading distributer of material handling systems (carts) to long care facilities across Canada. CartsPlus Healthcare has national contracts in place with most major long term care providers – including Silver Group Purchasing, Central Park Lodges, Leisureworkd Carresant Care and Oakwood Retirement Communities to name a few.
The company name was changed to CartsPlus Healthcare in 2000 as the company advanced with the acquisition of Dobkot Limited – a manufacturer and distributer of cubicle curtain track and privacy curtains for hospital, long term care and private clinics.
In 2005 the company acquired Exceldar Northern Customfab (who was also a manufacturer of cubicle curtain and IV track systems).
CartsPlus has provided curtain and I.V. track for major projects across Canada including the new hospital in Brantford, Bloorview MacMillian, Hamilton Health Sciences, Humber River Regional Hospital, Royal Victoria and St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.
CartsPlus Healthcare acquired the Eastern Canadian rights to manufacture and distribute the MechoShade line of manual and electric roller shades under license from MechoShade Inc. “ The Architects Choice “ in 2006. MechoShade has been the innovator for manual, motorized and automated solar shading and room darkening solutions for over 30 years. Since that time we have had many successful installations which have included Trilllium Health Partnerships – Credit Valley Hospital, CPPIB (Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board), UJA Federation (United Jewish Agency), RVH (Royal Victoria Hospital). Covanta Energy, and Ericsson Canada to name a few.
