Since 2006, Advanced Mobility has grown to become an international company, designing and building custom trailers and specialty vehicles for the mobile healthcare, television production and broadcast, and banking industries, and for sports and special events.

Owners and founders of Advanced Mobility, Bob Bachman, President and Larry Sodomire, Chief Operating Officer, started their careers in the trailer and specialty vehicle business together at the Calumet Coach Company in the early 1980’s. They later started AK Associates, acquired Calumet Coach Company, Frontline Communications, SMIT Mobile Equipment B.V. and AMP Systems, and renamed the company AK Specialty Vehicles. In 2005, AKSV was sold to Oshkosh Corporation. Following a short semi-retirement, Bob and Larry started Advanced Mobility in 2006 to meet the large demand for mobile medical trailer refurbishment and upgrading during the economic challenges of that time.
