Professor Rafael Beyar, a distinguished figure in cardiovascular medicine, takes on the role of Director of Innovation in Cardiovascular Intervention meetings. With an extensive background, including an MD from Tel Aviv University, a DSc from Technion, and an MPH from Johns Hopkins University, Beyar's career has been marked by groundbreaking research.

 

His expertise lies in integrating engineering principles with cardiovascular system analysis, translating findings into innovative medical tools, and implementing these advancements in clinical practice for societal benefit.

 

Beyar, the co-founder of Technion’s Heart System Research Centre, has held significant positions at Rambam Medical Centre and Johns Hopkins University. He pioneered the world’s first FDA-approved robotic catheterisation system and led influential international meetings on cardiovascular sciences.

 

Appointed as Director of Rambam in 2006, Beyar navigated the hospital staff through adversity during the Lebanon war and spearheaded the creation of the Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital, a pioneering facility globally.

 

His recent accomplishments include establishing Rambam MedTech, a technology transfer company, and winning Israel’s 2015 Incubator Program on Digital Health. Beyar’s vision emphasises the fusion of exceptional healthcare, education, research, and innovation.
