As of October 1, 2023, the Board of Trustees appointed Dr. med. Ulrich Knopp appointed new board member of the St. Franziskus-Stiftung Münster. The 55-year-old doctor will be the successor to Dr. Daisy Hünefeld will be retiring at the end of the year after many years of extremely successful work. Together with the chairman of the board, Dr. Nils Brüggemann becomes Dr. Ulrich Knopp will form the future governing body of the Franziskus Foundation.

After studying human medicine in Giessen, Lübeck and Bergen/Norway, followed by a doctorate, Dr. Knopp received his specialist certification as a neurosurgeon and completed his studies in health economics in Oestrich-Winkel while working. After working as a neurosurgeon and management consultant, Dr. Knopp as clinic manager at the Schön Klinik Hamburg Eilbek. There he was particularly responsible for the management and reorganization after the takeover before he became the hospital's managing director and medical director and at the same time a member of the extended management of Schön Kliniken Holding. Furthermore, Dr. Knopp has been a lecturer in strategic and operational hospital management for many years.
Since 2018, Dr. Knopp is Managing Director at Asklepios Kliniken Hamburg GmbH, Asklepios Klinik Nord and is responsible, among other things, for the management of the medical service, medical development and strategy and medical risk management. In particular, Dr. Knopp will be very well placed in his new position on the board. The Lübeck native is married and the father of two adult children.
