Canon Medical Systems Europe is thrilled to announce the move of its European headquarters to Amstelveen, the Netherlands, along with the introduction of the state-of-the-art "Canon Medical Academy Europe". The impressive 8642 m2 headquarters and academy were officially opened last Thursday, September 14, by Mr. Toshio Takiguchi, President and CEO of Canon Medical Systems Corporation.

The decision to move to Amstelveen is driven by a future-oriented approach that aligns with the new way of working post-pandemic era. Recognizing the evolving needs of its workforce, Canon Medical embraces a fresh approach to office spaces that prioritizes ergonomics, collaboration, and adaptability. Additionally, the imaging company recognizes the challenges faced by its partners and is dedicated to providing them with the highest level of support, as demonstrated by its ongoing expansion strategy.

Besides joining the European headquarters of its parent company, Canon Medical launched the ‘’Canon Medical Academy Europe’’. The academy will play a pivotal role in nurturing talent, fostering collaboration, and advancing medical knowledge for the betterment of society. A significant part of the new academy, which consists of 17 training rooms, is dedicated to training and education in which all clinical solutions are installed: Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance, Ultrasound, Diagnostic and Interventional X-ray, including an Angio-CT system, Ultrasound, Eye Care and Healthcare IT, covering all clinical pillars to optimize patient pathways and outcomes. The new facility also houses its Refurbishment Center and multiple Mobile Imaging Solutions ready to be deployed to healthcare facilities throughout Europe.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) played a vital role in establishing Amstelveen as the company’s new location and in the construction of the academy. Canon Medical's commitment to the environment and the world’s community is integral to its management structure, product design, manufacturing, and corporate culture and inspired the design of the new headquarters with investments made to implement the latest facility innovations to save energy and focus on environmental dimensions.

Water used to cool down MR magnets is reused in the heating system of the building, an innovative LED lighting platform is implemented, and inflatable dock shelters for trailers are installed. Besides that, Canon Medical installed an extensive electrical UPS system for enhanced performance and environmental friendliness. Technology to switch off screens in the facilities after the departure of the respective staff is active, and the integration of CO2 sensors that reduce unnecessary power consumption by controlling ventilation, is completed.

Inspired by its "Made for Life" philosophy, Canon Medical continues to provide healthcare solutions that address real-world needs and concerns of patients, medical professionals, customers, and partners.
