The EchoBox was developed in 2008, financed by a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense. Feasibility has been proven in trials conducted at the Massachusetts General Hospital Emergency Department and the Duke University Hospital Cardiology Department. In September 2011, EchoBox was featured at the Massachusetts Medical Device Developement Center (M2D2) opening at UMass Lowell. Visit UMass Lowell's website to read about EchoBox and their Business Incubator. The EchoBox can save time and money by avoiding staff travel and patient transport. It provides improved image acquisition and interpretation and reduces patient call-backs for repeat exams--all at a remarkably low cost to purchase, install and operate.
