The EchoBox was developed in 2008, financed by a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense. Feasibility has been proven in trials conducted at the Massachusetts General Hospital Emergency Department and the Duke University Hospital Cardiology Department. In September 2011, EchoBox was featured at the Massachusetts Medical Device Developement Center (M2D2) opening at UMass Lowell.
