TYPICALLY, A PNEUMOTHORAX IS DRAINED VIA THE 2nd OR 3rd INTERCOSTAL SPACE ON THE MEDIOCLAVICULAR LINE, AND AN EFFUSION IS DRAINED VIA THE 6th OR 7th INTERCOSTAL SPACE ON THE MID-AXILLARY LINE. IN CASE OF LOCAL CAUSES (TRAUMA, SCARING…), OR IF THE EFFUSION HAS BECOME PARTITIONED, ANOTHER DRAINAGE POINT MAY BE CHOSEN. THIS MODEL INCLUDES: • 1 detachable introducing needle with a hollow stylet • 1 drain multiperforated on 10 cm (in a sterile sheath to guarantee asepsis during handling, detect a negative or positive pressure, and determine the liquid or gas nature of the sample) • 1 three-way stopcock • 1 conical hub for 6-13mm aspiration tube • 1 Luer-Lock 12 ml syringe
