Finally, a new Therapy for Obstructive Sleep Apnea has arrived. The Inspire Upper Airway Stimulation (UAS) therapy is designed to significantly reduce the burden of obstructive sleep apnea by delivering mild stimulation to the upper airway during sleep. The Inspire Upper Airway Stimulation therapy is very small and a fully implantable system that utilizes well-established technologies from the fields of cardiac pacing and neurostimulation. The Inspire Upper Airway Stimulation therapy is currently available only through clinical trials in the United States. However in Europe, the Inspire therapy has been approved for commercial sale and is available at select medical centers.
