The Hill-Rom NP 200's surface applies pressure to patients in order to prevent ulcers. The surface is non-powered but delivers resilient support and works as an alternative to foam. The foam has an anti-skid bottom to secure the mattress on the sleep deck. An anti-microbial angent is put in the foam to protect it from odor-causing bacteria. The mattress is protected from fluids with its polyurethane coated ticket, RF welded seams and an inside flap. It boasts a shear liner and bidirectional stretch ticking to minimize friction and offer additional comfort to patients.
