The ability to capture digital images during cases is becoming a requirement for patient record information, consultation, teaching and legal. The basic requirement is to capture still and streaming images of the view as seen by the endoscopic camera. Physicians generally require that the image control come from buttons contained on the endoscopic camera. Although some physicians prefer that the start/stop control come from a foot pedal and/or touch screen control. With High Definition endoscopic cameras, physicians want the captured and stored images from a case to be in high definition as well so that when the images are played back and displayed as part of a teaching case, the resolution displayed is at the same resolution originally viewed during the procedure.
