The EMS AIR-FLOW Master is the world's first subgingival prophylaxis unit intended for deep periodontal pocket applications. The AIR-FLOW Master is useful in performing supragingival prophylaxis as well. The AIR-FLOW Master operates in two modes. When in the AIR FLOW mode, the unit delivers biokinetic energy to the surface of the tooth without danger of scratching the tooth's surface. When operating in PERIOD-FLOW mode, the unit serves to reduce bacteria, while at the same time tightening the gum tissue. These two working modes, combined with the unit's dual powder chambers, results in a prophylactic device that addresses any almost clinical situation, but is an especially powerful tool when treating the very deepest periodontal pockets is required. The supragingival AIR-FLOW handpiece can also be used in border subgingival areas, while the subgingival PERIOD-FLOW handpiece is especially designed for the deeper subgingival procedures.
