Preventative mattress replacement with good pressure equalization Optimal Cura is used as an aid in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers up to category 1(1). It is a mattress replacement, used in all types of healthcare environments. Optimal Cura is a two layer mattress where the top layer is made from visco-elastic foam (so called memory foam) and the bottom layer is made from HR foam. The special design of the mattress and the materials gives very good pressure equalisation. The two layers allows the body to sink into the material, and thereby lower the pressure against the body. It is delivered with the hygiene cover Olivia. A soft, elastic cover that is vapour permeable(2), which reduces the risk of skin maceration. It is a durable cover, which is easy to clean and with a very well documented hygienic standard(3). The cover is equipped with a drip shield zip on three sides. Also available as an accessory is the Evac cover, with functional handles for evacuation.
