The new ATMOS RS 221 offers a benchmark for the ENT surgical technology. Radiosurgical incision offers a good option for soft palate and tonsil surgery with minimal tissue damage and bleeding. Due to the low lateral heating with MHz, radiosurgery prevents the damage of the surounding tissues and, hence, offers an advantage over the kHz devices. The device also assures minimal tissue necrosis and minimized scarring, even during the first incision through the cuticle. The new system can now be used for histological examination of excised tissue to the tissue edge providing maximum conservation of the tissues. The ATMOS RS 221 can be safely operated with a frequency of 2.2 MHz. The entire system offers a reliable and safe process, offering diagnosis with minimal tissue damage.
