The Spencer Rock spine board is constructed from a single piece of high density, rigid polyethylene. It is both strong and lightweight, making it ideal for rescue and recovery operations in rugged mountain terrain, as well as in water and road situations. It is especially suitable for patients who are suspected of having suffered lesions of the vertebrae. The strapping system, comprised of nylon belts with Velcro attachments, enables a patient to be carried in almost any position, including vertically if necessary. The patient's head can also be strapped so as to minimize lateral movement during transportation. Four rugged, high-density polyethylene sliding blocks allow the spine board with its patient to be transported up or down steps. The Spencer Rock spine board can accommodate any patient weighing 25 kg [55 lbs] and up. This board can be used with any combination of Spencer collars.
