Self-breaking screws are produced in titanium alloy and are featured by a proximal element, the screw handle, which is connected to the implant through a thin connection bound to break over a stated torsional effort. This precaution allows the easy application directly with the powered drill; the use of the screwdriver can be limited to the last insert phase or to the removal. They are produced in diameters 2,0 or 2,7 mm. in a wide range of lenghts. They are suitable for the forefoot, in the Weil’s osteotomies in shortening the lateral rays or, more in general, for the upper limb traumatology.
