The SED Spencer Extrication Device is flexible enough to be used in tight quarters in emergency situations, yet it is vertically rigid and will more than adequately support the head and spine of the person strapped into the device. While designed primarily for adults, the device can also be used for small children and pregnant women. Horizontal flexibility enables the device to be moved and positioned in difficult spaces, while the vertical segments remain rigid. The covering consists of a robust nylon which helps to ensure device integrity while it is in use. The belts and buckles that make up the strapping system are color-coded, enabling both rapid spinal column immobilization and security during the extraction process.
