Tracker has depends on external hardware, mainly an optical system that measures the 3D position of either alive or passive markers affixed to specific tools for surgical procedures. Tracker is a software system for frameless neuronavigation. The surgical volume could be created from sets of magnetic resonance images or computed tomography images . Implementing a new camera means writing a new communication driver keeping untouched the rest of Tracker's code. Using the information from the optical system, Tracker is capable to show the position of tools inside the surgical volume in real time, at a rate of 15 frames per second.
- Function: : surgical navigation, 3D viewing
- Application domain: : for neuroimaging
