Job Overview

The Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join the multi-disciplinary team that makes up the Hull Core CAMHS team. This team works closely with other services in the division that support young people in relation to their mental health and emotional wellbeing. This includes both inpatient and other community teams.

The Humber CAMHS community team model is multi-disciplinary and consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, creative therapists and family systemic therapists. There is one community service aligned to NHS Hull (East and West), and one community service aligned to NHS East Riding (Driffield and Beverley) covering the areas of East Yorkshire & Yorkshire Coast & Wolds.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with other CAMHS Psychiatrist colleagues and other professionals within the multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency alliances. The post holder will specifically provide consultant leadership to a CAMHS Community Team covering Hull (age range 0 – 18 years). Adopting the New Ways of Working model will allow the post holder to take up a consultative style approach and retain a small caseload. The role will also include leadership to junior medical staff and contributing to strategic service development. The post holder will be encouraged to dedicate time for a special interest.
