Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director - Interventional Cardiology.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for financial oversight, operational management and leadership for the cardiac cath lab. Develops and implements short and long term action plans related to finances, operations, day to day management, program development and related issues. Implements and coordinates new programs and projects and monitors their operation and effectiveness

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees facilities management issues. Responsible for periodic review of space allocation within department. Serves as project manager for all minor construction and renovation work within cath lab. Develops and maintains space databases and floor plans. Oversees acquisition, maintenance and furnishing of cath lab space.
  • Oversees effective financial management of cardiac cath lab. Collaborates with VP in preparation of budgets. Regularly monitors financial performance of cath lab. Monitors resource utilization and ensures implementation of sound business practices. Responsible for monitoring and tracking finances related to all research endeavors. Identifies problems and serves as problem solver.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations within the cath lab. Manages all non clinical related staff performance and staffing levels. Ensures effective and efficient patient flow. Oversees all revenue cycle aspects including front end, middle and back end operations. Works with Medical director and nurse manager to ensure effective communication. Manages the supply chain process.
  • Directly supervises and manages support staff. Directs and coordinates subordinate administrative personnel. Supervises staff in specified assignments. Interviews prospective applicants. Ensures assignments are understood and institutes appropriate follow up to ensure desired outcomes. Counsels staff in areas of their performance and oversees disciplinary process as necessary.
  • Assists with the preparation of all cardiac cath lab budgets. Prepares budgets and variance analysis as requested. Meets required deadlines for all budget submissions. Tracks spending over time against budget spread. Ensures accurate breakdown of budget sub object codes.
  • Responsible for revenue cycle both professional and technical components. Helps to resolve issues and implement appropriate corrective action. Develops effective and efficient processes for charge capture and charge submission. Works with hospital and FGP to resolve billing and collection matters. Monitors third party payments to ensure compliance with agreements.
  • Plans and develops new programs and systems for the cath lab. Administers policies and procedures for the cath lab. Oversees all staff training and development programs for the cath lab.
  • Develops marketing strategies to promote cath lab. Maintains inventory of necessary supplies and equipment. Ensures physical environment is clean and appropriately maintained.
  • Interacts with other divisions and departments. Monitors and maintains an effective quality assessment and improvement program. Oversees preparation of reports and maintains documents for cath lab.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborates to obtain and optimize specialty contracts and pricing for cardiac cath programs. Works in collaboration with hospital, division and FGP to optimize specialty contracts. Identifies problems and takes corrective action for managed care issues.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify you must have a Master's Degree in Business, health administration or related field with 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination. Thorough understanding of financial management functions for academic programs and physician group practice arrangements

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 - $179,961.60 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
