Lumalier was founded in 1963 to develop advanced Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) technology, products, innovations, and engineering controls that have lead to safer, healthier living for millions of people worldwide.

Since its founding, Lumalier products have become the industry benchmark for safe, healthy air and surface disinfection, becoming the first UV manufacturer to attain UL approval for duct-mounted UV accessories (UL classification ABQK ).

Lumalier's advanced UV germicidal disinfection products are speifically engineered to benefit the Healthcare, Educational, Institutional, Commercial, Office and Residential markets.  Ongoing efforts to eliminate airborne respiratory sickness and disease has earned Lumalier special recognition and citations by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies.

A resurgence of tuberculosis (TB) in the 1980's created a renewed interest in UVGI tehnology, leading to an intense program to investigate and document  germicidal UV requirements in the present day. Through consultation and partnerships with national and internationally recognized TB control physicians and public health administrators, Lumalier redesigned its UV line to meet the critical demands of the worldwide healthcare community; manufaturing environmentally-friendly UVGI equipment that are more germicidally efficient, durable, attractive, and maintenence-free.

Today, Lumalier offers a complete selection of UVGI air and surface disinfection products. Multiple model options are available to target air contamination in high-risk areas  (upper room room air disinfection), whole-facility  air contamination (HVAC in-duct disinfection), and highly-targeted surface contamination (portable and stationary air and surface disinfection products).

Lumalier remains an active member of the Internatioanl Ultraviolet Association (IUVA), and and active member and participant of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and its UV Technical Committee TC2.9, and UV Standards Committee SPL-185.

Lumalier also continues its support and participation in various studies conducted by leading public health institutions, governments and universities concerned with the control of airborne pathogens via safe and economical UV cleansing energy.
