In the beginning there was the idea of optimizing the workflow of surgeons. Scopis GmbH, which was founded in 2010, develops navigation systems for minimally invasive operations.  

Everything started in the operating theater. Bartosz Kosmecki, then a research assistant at the Charité University Clinic in Berlin, noticed that there were no endoscopes for precisely surveying the area being operated on. Kosmecki was sure that such an aid would make the surgeon's work very much easier.
