About the Annual Conference

Interoperability: Building Consensus Through the 2020 Roadmap

eHealth Initiative’s 2015 Annual Conference & Member Meetings, February 3-5 in Washington, DC will bring together the most influential leaders from across the healthcare spectrum to discuss critical issues related to the use of data and technology to improve healthcare for all Americans

Unlike other conferences, eHealth Initiative’s Annual Conference includes a variety of perspectives and stakeholders in a neutral environment, including a series of interactive panels and best practices. The event draws hundreds of attendees from professional societies, patient advocacy groups, payers, health systems, pharmacies, labs, medical device manufacturers and many other key constituencies.

AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE YOU WILL:

- Collaborate one-on-one with more than 250 healthcare industry key stakeholders within Three (3) focused and intimate workgroup discussions on Interoperability, Data Access & Use and Business and Clinical Motivators.

- Problem-solve with healthcare leaders during nine (9) Learning Lab breakout discussion sessions and panels focused on hot button issues and focused on ways to overcome barriers that stand in the way of progress in healthcare.

For over twenty years, Jennifer has focused on quality, data and technology solutions for healthcare. Serving as Chief Executive Officer since 2009, Jennifer provides leadership for all the research, education and advocacy components of the eHealth Initiative and its Foundation. Working closely with executives from across the spectrum of healthcare, she helped refine the organization’s strategic focus to concentrate on the use of data and analytics; accountable care; data exchange; and technology tools for chronic care conditions.

John Glaser, PhD

CEO, Health Services, Siemens Healthcare, eHealth Initiative Board Member

John Glaser, Ph.D. currently serves as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Health Services Business Unit of Siemens Healthcare, where he is responsible for heading Siemens’ global healthcare IT business, including product development, strategy, portfolio management, financial performance, and overall customer satisfaction. In this capacity, he leads over 4,500 employees, multiple health information system brands, a robust Global Services arm, and Siemens’ world-renowned Information Systems Center.

Samuel W. Ho, MD

EVP & CMO, United Healthcare, Chairman of eHealth Initiative Board of Directors

Dr. Samuel W. Ho, serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President of UnitedHealthcare at Unitedhealth Group, Inc. Dr. Ho served as an Executive Vice President of Health Services and Chief Medical Officer at Pacificare Health Systems Inc. since January 2005.

Richard Ratliff

Global Managing Director, Connected Health IT Solutions, Accenture, eHealth Initiative Board Member

As the Global Connected Health Lead, Rick is responsible for customer and vendor relationships, business development, marketing and the performance of all network participants.Rick has been a leader in the strategic use of information technology in various healthcare environments with a particular focus on the electronic exchange of health information between a patient’s care providers.

Christopher Ross

CEO, Mayo Clinic, eHealth Initiative Board Member

Christopher Ross is the recently appointed Chief Information Officer at Mayo Clinic. Mr. Ross was formerly the Executive Vice President and General Manager at SureScripts. SureScripts operates an e-prescribing network that connects 60% of doctors, 90%+ of all pharmacies and PBMs, routes 40% of all scripts written in the U.S., provides a medication history for 33% of all patient visits, and manages over 3 billion transactions per year.

Micky Tripathi

President & CEO

Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative; Chair of HITC Interoperability and Health Information Exchange Workgroup, eHealth Initiative Board Member Micky Tripathi is the founding President and CEO of the Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative. His activities range from policy guidance at the federal level, to collaborative strategic planning at the state and community levels, to implementation of health IT systems at the frontline of healthcare delivery.

Charles N. Kahn III

President and Chief Executive Officer

Charles N. (“Chip”) Kahn III is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH), the national public policy organization for investor-owned hospitals, a position that he has held since June 2001. He is recognized and respected nationally as one of the country’s most insightful and articulate experts on health policy, Medicare payment, health care financing, and health coverage.

Karen B. DeSalvo, M.D., M.P.H., M.Sc.

Former National Coordinator for Health Information Technology

Karen DeSalvo just recently stepped down from her role as National Coordinator for Health to serve as Acting Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at the behest of HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell. In her new role, DeSalvo will work with Burwell on "pressing health issues, including becoming a part of the department's team responding to Ebola, Dr. Karen DeSalvo is a physician who has focused her career toward improving access to affordable, high quality care for all people with a focus on vulnerable populations and to improving overall health.

Edward W. Marx

Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President Texas Health Resources

Edward W. Marx, is the senior vice president and chief information officer for Texas Health Resources. His responsibilities include developing leaders and leveraging technologies to transform, grow, and run Texas Health. Additionally, Edward is the Governor appointed Chairman of the Texas Health Services Authority, providing guideance on health information exchange.

Ceci Connolly

Managing Director – PwC’s Health Research Institute (HRI)

Ceci leads national thought leadership and research initiatives for the firm and clients. HRI is a dedicated research group that provides new intelligence, perspective and analysis on major health-related business issues. She has 25 years of experience reporting and writing about national politics and healthcare and is considered an authority on communications, leadership, coaching, crisis management and the Washington regulatory process.
