Welcome to the 50th Edition of the SIMS Annual Congress

Dear,

It is with great pleasure that we present to you these 50th SIMS Thematic Days dedicated to foot imaging. 50 conferences and 50 monographs!

More than 20 years have passed since the last SIMS thematic days, which were then called GETROA–GEL, dedicated to this theme. The name of our company has changed but the radiologists and clinicians who run it have kept their dynamism, the desire to work together and the desire to share intact.

The next SIMS congress, under the presidency of Dr Gérard Morvan, will take place on June 14 and 15, 2024 at the Palais des Congrès in Issy les Moulineaux and will have the theme “THE FOOT”.

Imaging is a harmonious marriage of cutting-edge technology and clinical expertise. It plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions. The next congress will not deviate from this line: wide range of subjects, from anatomy to frequently encountered or more confidential pathologies, including the most advanced imaging techniques. This conference aims to guide you on this exciting journey, providing you with a detailed view of these complex joints and surrounding structures. They will cover 6 themes: The Forefoot, Tendon – retinacula & fascia, Ankle ligaments, Mechanical arthropathies of the ankle, The foot in all its states and the Foot under load, its relationships with the rest of the body.

These thematic days will be preceded by the Research half-day on Thursday June 13 and will close with 6 ultrasound workshops on Saturday afternoon.

We would like to warmly thank all those who have contributed over the years to the success of our Days. The successive scientific committees, and in particular this year Doctor Olivier Fantino who is the conductor, the speakers, moderators, the publishing committee composed of Frédérique Miot, Doctors Bard and Fantino, and our publisher Sauramps Médical . A big thank you also to our partners, historical and more recent, whose support for each of our events allows them to continue as much as your presence and your enthusiasm which continues year after year.

The SIMS also provides other continuing education activities, including an annual week devoted to musculoskeletal ultrasound (350 participants) and two ultrasound workshops in the provinces, one in March, the other in September. Each year it publishes a bilingual Gel-Contact magazine devoted to ultrasound, as well as the book of the June congress, a reference work, published by Sauramps medical, whose opus 48 dedicated to “THE HAND” received last year the Hermann Fischgold Prize.

She is mandated by the French Society of Radiology (SFR) for the vast osteoarticular program of the French Days of Radiology and by the College of Teachers in Radiology of France (CERF), for training in musculoskeletal imaging for the 2nd and 3rd cycles of medical studies. The SIMS also supports young radiologists wishing to enrich their professional experience abroad by offering mobility scholarships each year.
SIMS organizes congresses in France in collaboration with international musculoskeletal imaging societies such as the International Skeletal Society (ISS) and the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR), which it will host in Toulouse in 2025. It also offers internationally, interactive courses co-organized with foreign companies.

Last year, there were nearly 800 of you at the OS congress and more than 1,400 of you joined the SIMS. We hope to welcome many of you once again, during this congress organized jointly with our partner, Atout.com. Imaging will continue to evolve, bringing new discoveries and technological advances, and we are excited to share this end of the journey with you.

We wish you an enriching and stimulating conference, and hope that it will contribute to improving the care of our patients together.

Yours sincerely

Catherine Cyteval, President of the SIMS
