43rd Annual Meeting Sabi 2020

Dear Members and Friends of SABI,

Out of concern for the safety of our Annual Meeting participants, the Board of Directors unanimously made the difficult decision to change the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Society for Advanced Body Imaging (SABI) from an in-person to a fully online event.

While data indicate that the pandemic is slowing in many cities in the United States, COVID-19 continues to spread unabatedly in many regions. Many public health experts concur that a second virulent wave of the pandemic is likely during this fall’s cold and flu season. With our meeting scheduled to take place in October in New Orleans, the Board felt it neither prudent nor appropriate to put attendees in the difficult position of choosing between personal safety or the wonderful benefits of attending an in-person SABI meeting.

By moving the activities of our 2020 Annual Meeting to an online setting, SABI joins a growing list of medical societies that have opted to forgo their usual conference activities this year and instead host them online. Importantly, we view the pandemic as a unique opportunity to innovate – a core value of SABI – and to pursue creative possibilities for delivering a rich and meaningful Annual Meeting. Our Program Committee has already initiated plans to transform the Annual Meeting program into a new and exciting online format. More details will follow in the coming weeks. We anticipate nothing short of an engaging program.

While the specifics of the online program are being finalized, please save October 10 – 14 on your calendars so you can be part of our networked event. We will let you know the precise duration and dates and registration details for the Annual Meeting as soon as they are available.
