Lord Carter of Coles, Labour peer and government adviser, warned Thursday at the opening of a new private hospital in Bath that a "massive reconfiguration" of the NHS would be needed to deal with the changing times.

With further restrictions on the budget and increasingly more options available in the private sector, the NHS considers closing hospitals as it searches for answers to the current situation in the UK.

The private sector is growing due to the initiatives allowing citizens the election of service provider. With this growth in private facilities, Carter said at some point,
