Restoring Ourselves (Care for the Caregiver)

A thriving healthcare workforce is essential to our healthcare systems’ ability to deliver quality care and compassionate, responsive healthcare experiences. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken an extraordinary toll on caregivers – emotionally, psychologically, spiritually and physically. We will examine these realities and explore efforts to restore and fortify the healthcare workforce.

Rebuilding Trust and Engagement

In many healthcare organizations, an unintended consequence of operating in crisis mode during the pandemic was a return to a more paternalistic approach to care -- making decisions and setting policies FOR patients and families versus WITH them. Conference content will focus on recommitting to patient and family engagement efforts and reinstating person-centered practices and processes that keep people safe and protected while maximizing partnership, access, inclusion, and engagement.

Creating A Healthier, Fairer, More Caring World

COVID-19 has exposed deep-rooted health disparities. The pandemic has highlighted the interconnectedness of one’s health and well-being to economic security, environmental factors, race, and ethnicity. We will explore this intersection of medical and non-medical needs and share how person-centered organizations around the world are tackling the pervasive challenge of healthcare disparities with renewed resolve, empathy, and humility.
