Governance and leadership of health systems involve researching and setting up strategic objectives, making policies, and developing laws and regulations while securing and deploying the necessary resources, skills, and competencies to accomplish strategic goals. In this context, engaging physicians as leaders is essential in bringing on the changes that can transform health care.
In this first executive workshop of the series, we will look at what and how we can do it, and we will discuss corporatization processes beyond the “doctor-manager” paradigm. How can we develop hybrid roles in committed organizational leaders? Why do clinicians seem often reluctant leaders? How can we sustain their transition toward higher-level managerial capabilities?
Who should attend
The workshop has been designed for all protagonists of the management and transformation of health systems. Expected participants are:
- Clinicians that aspire to move in leading roles.
- Nursing managers of all levels of hospital structure: divisions, directorates, centers, units, clinical service lines; and senior nurses that are about or aspire to move to the next level leading roles.
- Experienced healthcare managers aspiring to «C» level positions (Chief Executive, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Medical Director, Chief nursing manager, Chief administrators)
- Academia
- Policy-makers
Each workshop has a closed attendance of 30 participants. Registrations will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis.
Why this programme?
This 4 hours workshop is the first installment of the new series ‘The Many Avenues of Health Management‘. This event will be specifically focused on engaging physicians to lead change in health care systems and aims to provide vital knowledge and skills in the latest leadership and leaders development strategies.
The workshops will provide a conducive environment and the best opportunity for bench learning. Attendees will learn about the current status of physician engagement, the barriers to overcome, how it can transform operational and clinical performance, as well as the dos and don’ts for engaging physicians in leading change.
In this engaging and personal digital environment, they will also have the opportunity to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices from different countries building relations that can be put to use in local realities.
