Carissimi colleghi,

ho il piacere di annunciarvi che il nostro prossimo 19° Convegno Nazionale AIIC si terrà in Calabria, dal 16 al 18 maggio 2019 ed avrà come titolo “Tecnologie, accessibilità, esiti: l’ingegneria clinica per una sanità di valore” (Università degli Studi Magna Graecia, Catanzaro).

E’ una scelta doppiamente importante, quella che abbiamo compiuto: da un lato abbiamo infatti voluto sintetizzare nel tema del Convegno una serie di elementi imprescindibili della nostra attività attuale come associazione e come professionisti impegnati nella sanità; dall’altro abbiamo scelto una location forse inusuale per un grande evento nazionale, proprio per richiamare l’attenzione sul “Sud che si muove” e su un centro di vita accademica, sanitaria e tecnologica attivo.

Il titolo che abbiamo scelto per il nostro evento annuale mette in fila i valori su cui il Servizio Sanitario nazionale gioca il suo futuro: le tecnologie healthcare devono essere abilitanti per un’equità d’accesso e per esiti che conducano ad una salute migliore, diffusa ed universalista. Ma quali sono le condizioni per cui tutto questo possa accadere? E con quali contributi professionali? E’ proprio ciò che vogliamo approfondire nella nostra tre giorni che, ne sono certo, sarà come negli ultimi anni fortemente seguita, dinamicamente partecipata e professionalmente ricca.

Vi ringrazio per la partecipazione con cui vorrete seguire il XIX Convegno, ricordando che quest’anno lanciamo la seconda edizione del nostro Health Technology Challenge (HTC), una “sfida” a cui lo scorso anno hanno partecipato oltre centosessanta progetti: è un premio a cui attribuiamo grande importanza e su cui mi permetto da subito di richiamare la vostra attenzione.

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that our next 19th AIIC National Conference will be held in Calabria, from 16 to 18 May 2019 and will be entitled "Technologies, accessibility, outcomes: clinical engineering for valuable healthcare" (Università degli Studi Magna Graecia, Catanzaro).

It is a doubly important choice, the one we have made: on the one hand, we have wanted to summarize in the conference theme a series of essential elements of our current activity as an association and as professionals engaged in health care; on the other hand we have chosen a location that is perhaps unusual for a major national event, precisely to draw attention to the "South that moves" and to an active center of academic, health and technological life.

The title we have chosen for our annual event puts together the values on which the National Health Service plays its future: healthcare technologies must be enablers for fair access and for results that lead to better health, widespread and universalist. But what are the conditions for this to happen? And with what professional contributions? It is precisely what we want to look into in our three days which, I am sure, will be as strongly followed, dynamically participated and professionally rich in recent years.

I thank you for the participation with which you will want to follow the XIX Conference, remembering that this year we launch the second edition of our Health Technology Challenge (HTC), a "challenge" to which over one hundred and sixty projects participated last year: it is a prize to which we attach great importance and on which I allow myself to immediately draw your attention.
